ADHD & Neurodivergence
“Just listen to your body” isn’t simple advice for everyone.
For many neurodivergent people, including those with ADHD, autism, or sensory processing differences, connecting with hunger and fullness cues can be genuinely hard. Executive functioning challenges can make planning, shopping, and cooking feel like a lot. Sensory differences can narrow the foods that feel comfortable, and some ADHD medications can quiet your appetite during the day. None of this means you’re doing anything wrong. My work is to help you find practical, flexible approaches to nourishment that actually work for you. That might mean adapting Intuitive Eating principles, building low-barrier eating routines, or supporting your energy and focus without a one-size-fits-all model of “healthy eating.”
Our sessions can look however works best for you. You’re welcome to draw, fidget, move around, or keep your camera off. We can slow down, take breaks, or change up the structure if something isn’t working. You never have to mask or “perform” focus here.
Our work together might include:
Adapting Intuitive Eating principles to fit how you experience hunger and fullness
Simple, low-effort eating routines that fit your life
Making sense of hunger and fullness signals that feel unclear or easy to miss
Meal planning, grocery lists, and ways to make shopping less overwhelming
Working with your sensory preferences and feeding differences
Nutrition support for ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), in coordination with your care team
This might be for you if...
You forget to eat until you’re suddenly starving
Planning meals or grocery shopping feels overwhelming
Certain textures, smells, or tastes make eating hard
You rely on a handful of foods and want support without pressure
Intuitive Eating advice hasn’t felt like it was made for you
Curious what this could look like for you?
