Art Journaling for Your Unique Body Story

A creative 6-session journey through the story only your body can tell.

A creative space to explore the story only you can tell.

Most of us are born feeling at home in our bodies. Somewhere along the way, that changes — shaped by the messages we absorb from family, media, diet culture, and a world full of opinions about what bodies should look like. Over time, we can lose touch with our own story.

Art Journaling for Your Unique Body Story is a 6-week virtual small group experience that uses creativity as a gentle tool for coming home to yourself. Each week explores a new chapter of your body story — through art journaling prompts, short reflections, and optional group sharing.

This is not art therapy. You do not need to consider yourself an artist. There is no right way to make a mark on a page, just as there is no right way to inhabit a body. Curiosity and a willingness to show up for yourself are the only requirements.

Art Journaling for Your Body Story

What does art have to do with your body story?

It challenges perfectionism. Art journaling focuses on process, not outcome. There is no "good" or "bad" page. That same flexibility can begin to soften the all-or-nothing thinking that so often shows up around food and bodies.

It creates space for self-compassion. Many people find that making art — messy, imperfect, expressive art — opens a door to self-awareness and kindness that other approaches haven't been able to reach.

It works as a metaphor. Just as you don't have to get art "right" the first time, eating doesn't have to be perfect to be nourishing. Art can support variety, coping, and resilience — especially for people who feel stuck in diet culture.

Creativity offers a different way of relating to yourself and your body.

Six Chapters of Your Body Story

Six sessions. Six invitations to look a little closer at the story you've been living — from the messages you inherited to the story you're ready to write. Each opens with a short grounding, followed by art journaling prompts and optional group sharing. Click any session to explore.

Each session is facilitated by Alexis, a registered dietitian and Certified Body Trust® provider whose approach is rooted in weight-inclusive, trauma-informed care.
